North of Reno on our way to Susanville. We've seen a couple of rainbows this morning and some light rain.
Now between Susanville and Altrus. It's cold up here in the frigid north! Huge tailwind which makes for easy driving.

Our Dinner
We were going to eat dinner at Costco but after our long drive just couldn't do it. Waiting here for table and small pizza. Got a light ipa called Deathwish. Awesome.

Stopped out of Lone Pine for bouldering. Alabama Hills area. A lot of westerns were filmed here, Lone Ranger, John wayne, etc

Me and sam stopped by the store to stock up on sugar and snacks before we left so that made us happy, but we're still sad we're are leaving. :(

Buster was naughty tonight!
I came home and he had gotten into the cupboard and got his special bones out and ate or hid about 10 of them! Bad dog! He kept coming into the family room with one in his mouth, and I tried to lure them out of his mouth and put them back! I gave up after about four because he was getting more frigerator treats than doggie bones!!! I started following him and he had them hid all over the house. I even found one in our closet upstairs! in the couch cushions. Under the dining room table. In his doggie bed under the end table! He is such a pest!!! The treat container was full to the top when I left to go to dinner. The other picture is what I wrestled away from him! Finally gave up because he was just getting too mean!

Our Last Night
Our last night in Death Valley. We bought WiFi access for 24 hours yesterday so we're using it up now. Runs out at 8 PM. The Edge cell signal is hit and miss for data at our campsite. The weather has finally been calm the last two days. There was more wind prior to that than we would care for. But it has been a grand trips. DV is a tough mistress - she can really knock you around but one must accept her as she is. (Except for the wind - that is miserable even for a desert rat like me.) I played golf for times, 4 x 9 holes so 36. Great the first day, poor the next two, and okay the final day today. Met some nice people at the course.
I really love this place because, 1) it's summer when Oregon can still be winter-ish, 2) it's very very dry warm (desert rat), 3) Furnace Creek has a cool name, 4) FC is a very nice resort that we can vicariously enjoy from the RV overflow parking lot, 5) the desert hiking, 6) the heat, 7) the great BBQ weather, 8) did I already mention the weather?, and, 9) beer tastes so good here. And to finish out the top ten list, 10) it's a great place to spend a week with your family.

Finally a quiet night and a great sleep. Tire saga continues. Different employee put tire on this AM. Tire at half pressure says he knows nothing about it, I need to talk to employee who repaired tire yesterday. Sigh. Filled tire to 35 psi. Will watch it.

Signing off
Sam and I met a nice family at the fire tonight. Two young daughters and parents from Klamath Falls. He teaches CJ in KF we learned as the were leaving. Hope to connect with them again tomorrow. They have a tent trailer!

This is for you Mom! No sunburns so far but then there hasn't been much sunburnable sun either. 
Americans
Though I enjoy being an American citizen, I despise Americans who blabber to tourists from out of the country, and don't give them a chance to speak (true story) and only talk about themselves. And who don't ask this said European couple about their experiences and theirs live. Learn common courtesy you blabbering Americans!
Dads new shirt
Dad got a new shirt today when we stopped at scottys castle for refreshments on the way.
Flat tire :(
Got a flat tire while trying to go to the racetrack! The boys fixed it with the spare so all is well. Dad used a rock to hold up the car! Decided not to go to the racetrack and just go back and relax.
