I left the trailer down on the highway in a campground in Big Pine so I could make this drive up into the mountains. I didn't feel completely comfortable leaving the trailer just in the parking lot so I paid 20 bucks for a campground. It was a long drive up to 10,000 feet but it was worth it. Unbelievable views. I took a nice 3-mile hike through the ancient trees and really enjoyed it. Ramona you would have completely hated the drive it was very windy, kind of roller coaster like and very narrow with very steep drop-off. Sam you would have totally loved it! And Sarah I think you would have been someone in different to liking it.
Wow some of the pics are so cool - where is everyone? Seems so desolate - maybe just that time of year. See you soon!
ReplyDeleteThe Visitor Center look brand-new, it was beautiful, and closed unfortunately. There were a few people around but not many. It's a long drive off the highway.
ReplyDeleteSOOOO BADASSS! That does look really awesome. Does remind me a lot of the Telescope Peak landscape.
