Day 3

Last night I pulled over at a wide spot on the highway and spent the night. Very clear Moon free Starry Night, very nice!

I got in my third hot spring today just north of Goldfield. Sam you and I stopped here before. I saw some wild Burros as well as two Wild Horses very near the hot springs which was way way cool.  Caitlin would have loved it, the horses were so beautiful and Majestic. Oddly this out of the way highway to Nowhere has been repaved which is really surprising. I remember it as being so bad it was almost reverting to gravel.

In Goldfield I had read the graveyard and a really odd grave marker so decided to visit. Huge graveyard but then I guess Goldfield used to be much larger but much of it burn to the ground. Also stopped to see this really weird art display of cars stuck in the ground in Goldfield. Never noticed it before when driving through but it's just far enough off the highway that unless you know it's there you might not see it.

South of Goldfield the wind's really picked up but the weather forecast for Furnace Creek kept saying only very mild winds. Of course it's very windy in Furnace Creek, figures. Very warm here was supposed to be 96 and it's over a hundred according to the car. I think I'm only going to pay for one night and evaluate my options tomorrow. Weather forecast seems to show the winds being worse tomorrow afternoon.
