I of course left later than expected and because of an unfortunate event I didn't get as far as I meant to today. It finally finally happened. I mean after all these years, it finally happened. Good thing I was by myself! I ran out of gas on the highway.
I wasn't trying to stretch the gas I just somehow wasn't paying attention in spite of the car repeatedly telling me I was low on fuel. I guess now when I say, oh when the needle is below empty that doesn't really mean the tank is almost empty. Yes, in fact that is exactly what it means.
I was only a mile and a half north of Terrebonne so I pulled a bike out of the car grab the backpack and rode to the gas station. They were incredibly nice there and offered to drive the gas back and try to offer to bring me and my bike back but the car was too small. Got gassed up and back on my way.
Ramona I stopped at Sunriver and had a beer with Star and Larry. It was really fun to see them again and share War Stories. We also bitched about Trump quite a bit.
I stopped at Fort Rock on the way South to do a short walk. I could have spent the night there because there was no camp host but wanted to get further. It brought back good memories being there again. Its been about 40 years since I first visited with a high school field trip.
Now at summer lake hot springs for the night. I planned to just stop for a soak and drive for another hour but the warm Waters made me think otherwise. Tomorrow I'll hit another hot springs on the way to Winnemucca Nevada.
Nice honey - good you got to see Star and Larry - have not seen them in a while. Glad I was not with you when ran out of gas! Don't do that again! Luv you - drive safe.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures! I see you got a new hat!
ReplyDeleteYep, saw them at Costco for 12 bucks and couldn't pass it up. Nice cool hat in spite of its black color. Plus I lost my ridiculously expensive OSU hat so figured it was time for a new hat.
